Please join us on Wednesday, September 22, at 1:00pm for "A Novel Perspective on Southeastern Minnesota: How New Remote Sensing Technologies are Changing the Way We Manage Our Natural Resources” presented by Toby Dogwiler.
Over the past few years several new remotely sensed data sets have become available for southeastern Minnesota. These include very high-resolution color aerial photos, Pictometry, which allows all portions of the landscape to be viewed from at least four oblique angles and high-resolution digital elevation models that allow the landscape to be visualized in three dimensions. During this presentation Professor Dogwiler will introduce the audience these technology as well as LiDar and other high-resolution digital elevation models, show examples from the southeastern Minnesota data, and discuss how these data sets are helping to address natural resources issues from the local farm all the way to the Gulf of Mexico dead zone.
