Please join us on Wednesday, September 29, at 1:00pm for “Civic Media” presented by James A. Bowey.

One of the important questions concerning media scholars and practitioners is whether the Internet is leading to a more polarized and insular society. This lecture will examine this issue and explore models and ideas for using Internet technologies to enhance civic engagement, and look at the role of journalism and higher education in developing a civic media. The lecture will also present findings and experiences from the Winona360 civic media project to illustrate these issues and ideas.
